"Riders" is a duet choreographed and performed by Abel Rojo and Nikoline Due. It was created for Copenhagen Made 2025, an annual choreography competition. The work explores the human presence on stage beyond the dancer’s form. Built on playful structures and improvisational tasks, the performers navigate space and time by listening and communicating both physically and vocally. Each performance unfolds differently, demanding openness and sharp decision making to keep the piece alive.
The piece is set to He Venido by Cuban group Los Zafiros, a heartfelt song from the 1960s post-revolution era. Its melody and lyrics celebrate music, love and community echoing the duet’s essence of togetherness, risk and shared presence. As 'Riders', we travel with rhythm, with music, with each other, and with whatever lies ahead.
